Beautiful Memory of Aunt Rublelene  / Angie Barnes (Great Niece )

I know from the stories my Mom tells me about Rublelene that she was a wonderful woman.  My Mom (Aloma Ann Singleton Warnick) passed on to me some wonderful memories of Ancle and Rublelene that I will pass on to my children.  Please give our love to the entire family and condolences in the loss of Aunt Rublelene.

Sincerely,

Angie Barnes

This is to say I thought of Mrs. Rublene as a mother. Her son Mike and I went to school together and graduated together.I was at her house all the time and ate her wonderful cooking. She will be missed so very much. But Mike is so special just like her and always willing to help.Mike and I had lost touch or just to busy with our livies. But February 24,2006 my son died and Mike worked at the Funeral home where he was.He was suc a blessing.I really don't think I could have went throught it if Mike had Not been there. He helped with everything make sure the flowers were taken care if and helped with little things such as letting me put Ken's shoes in with him.I just can't tell anyone how hard it has been but how special and helpful Mike has been.He is so much a part of my life and my feelings. So I wish him a happy heart and a long life.I am here Brother if ever you need me.I'm so sorry I wasn't there like I should have been before. But I will try not to let you down again.Sheila

Thanks, Mike  / Chris McClure (None)

I never knew the lady, but I have met her son. Mike is a good man and I know he had to get it somewhere. He took good care of my brother's funeral and helped me get started on this site. Thank you for having him and raising him so well.

Our Friend  / Joseph Evitts (Friend)

You were a friend in a time of need
You shared your kindness and your love
We know that you'll watch over us now
From the heavens up above

We know you were the kind to share
Your heart, your mind and your soul
You are in GOD's embrace
Now that you are home

What a Great Lady!  / Susan Dosier (friend)

I met Rublelene through "Cooks Across the South." She had been chosen as one of Southern Living's CATS (as we called them) because of contributing so many great recipes to the magazine over the years. She was such a huge part of that week, and everyone just loved her. We've kept in touch, and Rublelene crocheted afghans when my daughters were born and has been a source of joy for many Southern Living staff members with which she kept in touch.

Rubelene was a great cook, a great lady, a great wife, and a great friend. We'll definitely miss her at Southern Living! --sd
